Coming Attraction – Edgar Allan Poe Illustrated Stories

Coming soon, more Edgar Allan Poe illustrated classic stories, attraction guaranteed. That’s because Poe is who he is – master of the macabre, inventor of the detective story, and a sower of sly humor throughout all of his works.

Transcending obsolescence, Poe’s prose skillfully transports delightful sound and vivid sights into the ears and minds of modern readers, from middle school on. And his stories still greatly entertain. Normal middle school readers everywhere enjoy Poe’s abnormal stories for reasons that paranormal psychologists might understand even if you and I don’t. And that’s okay with me – I don’t mind. Nor, I’m sure, do most parents and teachers. Getting kids to enjoy reading is what matters most.

Poe Illustrated will be released in the dead of winter 2020 if all goes as planned. Or if not, in the dead of some other 2020 season, provided our floundering company doesn’t die first. Poe Illustrated will contain three illustrated classic stories by Edgar Allan Poe, two we’ve previously released as single story books and another, The System of Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether, we haven’t released. More on that one soon. But to whet your appetite, here’s a portion of a Mark Johnson-Pencook illustration that we lifted from it.
